A request was received from BT for a Wayleave Agreement to add additional cables to an existing cable run at a property situated in Standley Road and Eagle Avenue, Walton-on-the-Naze.

Crystal Electronics Ltd was appointed to carry out the necessary work, including the supply, delivery, installation, and certification of the LED installations according to the specification. It was agreed that existing LEDs would not be replaced. Nonetheless, the contractor has kindly identified additional savings through the introduction of 30 x PIRs in key locations where LED panels are already present. The PIRs will promote further savings by switching off lights when no movement is detected in the area.
As such, a decision has been brough forward to amend the current contract with Crystal Electronics Ltd to include these works

A) To proceed with the contract variation with Crystal Electronics Ltd to install a further 30 x PIR’s.
B)The total cost for these works is £7,200, excluding VAT. to be funded with £3,200 from the balance of the Sports Reserve account plus £4,000 from the Sport and Leisure Revenue account.

The Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Public Realm has concurred with this decision being made.

Although being regularly redecorated, the Princes Theatre dressing rooms have not had any serious renovation in the last 16 years. As well as this, due to being situated below ground level they have, in the past, flooded resulting in damp and the associated problems. As such they are tired and in need of modernisation. Dressing rooms are a very important aspect of the theatre’s portfolio of assets and well-appointed rooms will mean a greater uptake of hires, not only professional shows but also local hires and weddings.
It is proposed that the refurbishment takes into consideration new technologies ensuring features such as USB outlets for mobile device charging, show intercom so stage can communicate, stage video so the cast when not on performing, can keep track of where they are in the show and other devices and furniture that is now expected as standard in a professional theatre’s dressing rooms.

To send out requests for quotations to outside contractors, evaluate and award contract based on the bidders ability to demonstrate best value whilst meeting the specification made by the General Theatre Manager - Technical.
