To allocate £77,100 previously awarded by the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner as part of a grant agreement provided to address our local Community Safety Partnership priorities of Reducing Serious Violence, Violence against Women and Girls and Tacking Anti-Social Behaviour and the root causes.
Reasons for the decision:
Award the funding under the Safer Streets 2 initiative in accordance with the Service Level Agreement will allow the Community Safety Partnership to address its priorities of Reducing Serious Violence, Violence against Women and Girls and tackling Anti-Social Behaviour and the root causes which also align with the Council’s Corporate Plan. The projects are defined within the Safer Streets 2 Bid.
A radio system to communicate with shops and businesses through the system shops and businesses will be able to share pictures, intelligence instantly as well as support their local Town Policing Team with up-to-date information. (£27,600)
To source a Noise Application that can support complainants to access the application, accept pictures and video recordings and provides on demand free training to use the Noise Application. It also supports linked report requests linking other organisations which supports collaboration working to resolve any issues. (£4,500)
Women’s Charter - Provide gender equality consultancy works with businesses and organisations to improve attitudes towards women, their safety, experiences and opportunities through positive cultural change and working practice (This is a bespoke package tailored to the needs of a specific area)(£30,000)
Helping Our Community Stay Safe Booklet to issue to residents and provides a fantastic tool in relation to crime prevention, modern slavery, VAWG, Fraud and Scams, Crimestoppers as well as providing a guide to all local council contacts and services. (£5,000)
Theatre Inspiring Change is a theatre company who are passionate about empowering people and communities to make personal and social change. Their productions are a mixture of plays and interactive workshops that tackle discrimination, prejudice and inequality whilst celebrating diversity. (£10,000)
Alternative options considered:
To decline the offer of funding. Projects seeking to deliver the Community Safety Partnership priorities in Tendring could then not be delivered.
