Issue details

The transfer of monitoring of the system to Colchester requires the use of the high specification recording device acquired for the enhancement project. The device is currently redundant and located in the former Clacton control room, following the transfer of CCTV monitoring to Colchester Amphora Trading Limited. The specification of the recorder is matched to the specification of some of the cameras put up under the scheme.
The new cable link to the police station has been installed but it has been identified there that the PC in use is outdated and should be replaced. A suitable PC was acquired under the Safer Streets project but is redundant because of the move of monitoring activity to Colchester. It is proposed to transfer the redundant PC to the police station to facilitate monitoring there.
TDC has ordered new power connections to new pole locations from UK Power Networks. Work has been completed on some sites but Essex Highways has refused to permit the opening of the roads in Old Road and in, Wellesley Road during normal hours. UKPN are able to carry out the work at these locations at weekends but at the additional cost of £2,902.00 +VAT each.
