Issue details

Tarchon Energy has undertaken non-statutory consultation on a proposal for an undersea interconnector cable between the UK and Germany. The proposal seeks to make landfall on land South of Harwich and then run unground cables inland to a Converter Station south of Manningtree – somewhere around Horsley Cross and Lt Bromley, in the vicinity of the East Anglian Connection Node proposed by National Grid.
As a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project, Tendring District Council is a consultee only and the planning process and decision is one for central government, administered through the Development Consent Order (DCO) process.
