Issue details
As you will be aware, Clacton Leisure Centre
provides a large range of activities within the Sports Hall, as
part of these provisions a storage location is allocated behind
fire shutters within the Sports Hall to ensure the safe storage of
items such as gymnastics and trampolining equipment.
In a recent safety inspection, the shutter doors have been marked
as unsafe for use due to age and level of repair required. This has
meant that the shutter doors have been forced to be remained open
and fixed at their top point, substantially increasing the chances
of someone accessing this area and at risk of endangerment. Whilst
everything has been done at Centre level to reduce this risk it is
impossible to eliminate without the doors and should a fire break
out the area is exposed.
