To accept an award of funding and progress an Active Outdoor Gym to be situated in Holland on Sea. The award of funding is for £70,000. The award of funding for £70,000 is from Sport England through the Local Delivery Pilot Scheme.
£65,000 for the equipment, £3,000 for ongoing maintenance and £2,000 for activation of the gym.
In addition, £5,000 is committed by Tendring District Council by way of site preparation works from the Open Spaces Team.
The total predicted cost of the project is £75,000.
To better reflect the suitability of the gym for all ages, the word Ageing has been removed and will now be called the Active Outdoor Gym.
The gym will be specifically designed to encourage physical activity, and build confidence for those who may be at risk of falling, have previously had a fall, or are struggling with rehabilitation.
A report was submitted to management team on 17th October 2023, and returned with comments in November 2023.
