Proposed distribution of £35,000
allocated to the Event Fund which is included in the Back to
Business Delivery Plan to support local town centres and adjacent
promenades.
Providing seed funding for local events to facilitate a high
quality programme to support tourism, local independent traders and
the creative and cultural sector within the district.
Given the Council’s commitment to
support local businesses, tourism, and its leading role in
promoting and celebrating our culture and heritage, £35,000
has been made available to town centre organisations and event
organisers to apply for a grant of £500 or £1000 to
enable them to fund town centre events.
Option 1 - To provide grants of £500 and
£1000 to town centre and events organisers to support events
that will bring trade and tourism into the area.
Option 2 - Do nothing.
