Purpose:

Online LGL Ltd. are able to provide this additional legal support to maximise capacity to enable the Authority to both pursue individual cases of anti-social behaviour as well as developing the knowledge and training of the case officers involved, and can do this entirely remotely.
In the first instance it is anticipated that the pilot will cover a maximum of ten jobs or matters will be pursued with these matters being monitored to decide if this is the most effective route for dealing with such matters, with a review undertaken after 6 months.

Decision:

To instruct additional external legal support to pursue legal action against those said to be committing or undertaking anti-social behaviour such additional legal support to include the instruction of Online LGL Ltd (company number 12225891) in the first instance to oversee and advise on investigations as well as taking proceedings through the Courts.

Alternative options considered:

Option 1 - The possibility of the Legal Team undertaking these matters has been considered but as there is no capacity in the current team this option is not feasible.
Option 2 - Other external options have been considered, including instructing a firm of solicitors, but not only do such firms have limited expertise, if any, in pursuing or prosecuting anti-social behaviour cases, they are a considerably more expensive option.
