Purpose:
The Council is the owner of the former Marks
and Spencer store building. The lease to Marks and Spencer remains
in force. Marks and Spencer has requested consent to underlet the
whole building to a local charity.
The underletting would be contrary to the terms of the lease to
Marks and Spencer.
It is understood that discussions relating to long term users of
the building are ongoing.
It is understood that the proposed undertenant currently occupies
two premises in the town.
