The requirement for the electric vehicle charging points is that they are able to accommodate disabled drivers. The logical option is to utilise one of the existing disabled parking bays.

To agree to the acquisition of an electric vehicle charging point and to locate the charging point in a parking bay on the councils car parking area at the Quay, Harwich in one of two existing disabled badge holder only parking bays.

Option 1 - The vehicle charging point was considered for location further along the Quay on parking controlled by the Highway Authority (Essex County Council) and their agents the North Essex Parking Partnership.
However future ownership and maintenance of the equipment made it prudent for the charging point to be located on land owned and managed by the District Council.
