These funds will also deliver on the strategic objectives set out in the Tendring Health and Wellbeing Strategy. This decision approved the strategy and authorised the Portfolio Holder for Partnerships to accept and to allocate Essex County Council’s Public Health Improvement funding to support the delivery of objectives of the Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
The Tendring Health and Wellbeing strategic priorities are:
•Addressing the wider determinants of health
•Improving wellbeing and resilience
•Encouraging a healthier lifestyle

Alternative options considered:

Not to launch an open call grant scheme and reducing opportunities for local grassroots clubs and community groups.
To give the funding to alternative projects, however, an open and transparent scoring process would still need to be considered.
