Decision:

Following the debate at Full Council on 11th March 2025, and listening to the views and concerns expressed by Members on a range of different topics to be considered throughout the next part of the process, covering:

 

    Contracts present and future;

    Other functions missing from the document, such as waste disposal, planning & minerals, social care & Pension Boards;

    Communication strategies;

    Consultation & engagement with residents;

    Impact on the delivery of services by TDC under the pressure of the tight deadlines being imposed by the Government;

    Adequacy of Capacity Funding provided by the Government;

    Understanding the impact on staffing between existing and new authorities; and

    Relationships with Town and Parish Councils and the timing of the planned Community Governance Review.

 

On behalf of Tendring District Council, to agree to the Interim Plan for Local Government Reorganisation in Greater Essex, as set out in Appendix B, being submitted to Government by 21st March 2025.

 

Recognising that such Interim Plan sets out the progress on developing proposals in line with criteria and guidance.
