Purpose:
The building that is currently used as the
Harwich and Dovercourt Rugby Club is owned by Tendring District
Council and has been leased for over 30 years.
The current lease has been holding over for a number of years under
the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954. Heads of Terms for a new lease
have been negotiated and a Portfolio Holder decision has been
obtained in respect of the grant of a new lease on the terms set
out in the signed Heads of Terms.
Decision:
To grant a new Lease over the building to the
current tenant.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - to grant a new Lease over the
building to the current tenant - proposed.
Option 2 - to not complete the new lease and have the property
remain vacant whilst in search for a new tenant - not
proposed.
