Decision details
Decision Maker: Corporate Director (Place & Wellbeing) & Deputy Chief Executive
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
Following the decision taken at Cabinet on
Friday 16th December to accept the Tendring District
Council’s allocation of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund
(UKSPF), and the subsequent decision dated 3rd February 2023
regarding how year 1 (2022/23) of the allocation would be spent,
please find attached a concurrence setting out projects which will
be funded by the 2023/24 UKSPF allocation.
To allow submissions for projects which can run across the next 2
financial years of the Shared Prosperity Fund scheme, we have
amended the concurrence to agree that submissions will be accepted
for both years 2 and 3 for some of the projects, allowing
submissions for projects which could run into 2024/25.
Decision:
Agreement to proceed has been received from
both the Leader of the Council, and the Portfolio Holder for
Business and Economic Growth, via email on 8/3/2023.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - Funding projects for year 2 only.
This would restrict the types of project proposals TDC would
receive and impacts organisations abilities to plan further in
advance regarding potential funding sources.
Option 2 - Waiting until 2023/24 to announce plans for that year.
This would restrict time available for projects to be
delivered.
