Purpose:
This letter follows the decision published on
6th February 2023 regarding the allocations for year 1 of the
Shared Prosperity Fund, setting out that £10,203 has been
allocated to support residents with the cost of living.
A number of projects have been explored, and working with Community
Voluntary Services Tendring (CVST) represents the best opportunity
to make the most impact with this available funding.
CVST propose to coordinate a voucher scheme to support Tendring
residents in need, with vouchers to the value of £30
(food
Decision:
Concurrence agreed via email by the Portfolio
Holder for Business and Economic Growth, via email on 2nd March
2023.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - not awarding the funds to CVST and
exploring further options for use of the funding. This would reduce
the amount of support available to residents for assistance with
the rising cost of living, and also reduce the speed at which
support was available.
