A successful bid into the Crime Prevention
Fund allows for capital purchases of new CCTV cameras that would
extend the surveillance range of the current TDC CCTV system.
Clacton Town centre is identified by Essex Police as one of the
three areas within Essex with the highest incidence of robbery,
vehicle crime, and residential burglary.
Management Team agreed the bid on 01 February 2022.
To bid for funding of £8,300 from the
Crime Prevention Fund 2022 in order to purchase 10 x digital CCTV
cameras that would be deployed around Clacton town centre if
successful.
Option 1 - Currently there is insufficient
funding within the TDC CCTV budgets to purchase these cameras. The
alternative to bidding for this funding is to either not invest in
CCTV improvements or to find the money from a different
source.
