Purpose:
The Council's apprenticeship provider service,
Career Track wishes to use a specialist company (SDN Ltd) to
provide advice and practical support for its RoAPT (Register of
Approved Training Providers) application and to enable it to meet
Ofsted requirements. Very few such companies exist, SDN offers
value for money and has successfully supported Career track through
the RoAPT process previously.
Decision:
Use SDN. Using another provider who may not be
as capable could risk a failure in the application or a failure to
meet Ofsted requirements. This would jeopardise the future of
Career track. We do not have sufficient resource inhouse to be sure
of success without specialist help.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - Don't use any specialist advice and
try to manage from own resources
Option 2 - Find and use an alternative untested provider
Option 3 - Use SDN
