Purpose:

The swimming pool changing rooms and spa area at Clacton Leisure Centre (CLC) is now at the end of their maintenance life cycle and need refurbishment. As such, a refurbishment project was approved from the Cabinet Decision taken on 19th July 2019. Following this Decision, an appointment of a contractor is required to complete the necessary work.

Decision:

The Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Tourism has concurred with the Assistant Director’s decision to appoint Lexden Contracts Construction to complete the Clacton Leisure Centre, Internal Alterations & Refurbishment project. The total contract sum will be £575,729.78, and the total cost of Daniel Connal Partnership consultancy fee is £19,600. This is fully funded from the Cabinet Decision taken on 19th July 2019, which allocated £525,000 and a further £92,000 allocated in the quarterly finance report on 19th March 2021.
