Purpose:
On 23 April 2021 Cabinet agreed to a scheme of
repair works to slipped cliffs at Holland on sea.
On 27 April 2021 the Council agreed funding for the project.
Competitive tenders have been sought.
It is proposed to appoint the lowest tendering contractor in line
with the Cabinet decision dated 23 April 2021.
Decision:
To appoint the lowest tendering contractor,
Breheny Civil Engineering Limited, to carry out cliff stabilisation
work at Holland on Sea.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - Not appointing a contractor -
failure to stabilise the cliff would lead to further collapse
Option 2 - Appointing a different contractor - would be at a
substantially greater cost
Option 3 - Appointing the lowest tendering contractor.
