In 2019 Cabinet agreed terms for a land swap to facilitate increased school provision at Clacton County High School. Legal agreements are in preparation to give effect to that transfer but are not yet concluded.
Pupils return to the school on 08 March 2021 and the school and County Council have requested a licence agreement to facilitate school use of the land to be transferred while the other documents are completed. The licence will also facilitate access for contractors to begin preparations for the school project. The School and County Council have agreed to work with the community to allow access to the petanque area until a replacement is completed. The licence will end when the formal transfers complete.
