Purpose:

To decide whether to write-off the membership fees income for May 2020 from leisure centres in the light of the on-going public health emergency.

Decision:

To approve the write-off of the Leisure Facilities Memberships Income for May 2020.

Reasons for the decision:

To ensure that leisure facility users are not charged membership fees during the period that the facilities will be closed due to the Covid-19 public health emergency. (This decision is in effect an extension following a similar decision for April 2020 and it may need to be reviewed / extended again in relation to June 2020.)

Alternative options considered:

None - It would not have been morally acceptable to charge membership fees for the period that customers would not have been able to access the facilities.
