Purpose:

To decide whether to fund enabling works at Esplanade Hall, Harwich as part of the preparations for the Mayflower 400 exhibition.

Decision:

To allocate £6,000 from agreed Mayflower budgets to enable Engineering Services to complete essential enabling works in relation to the preparation for the installations for the exhibition space at Esplanade Hall.

Reasons for the decision:

Works are required to make the building fully accessible. The building is the chosen venue for Mayflower 400 visitor content, which has been paid for by TDC.

Alternative options considered:

Not to fund the works – this would have unacceptably delayed the opening of the Esplanade Hall as a Visitor Centre for Harwich during the Mayflower 400 year.
