Purpose:
To decide whether to accept the transfer of 40 Winterbourne Gardens, Elmstead Market to the Council as an affordable housing and also to decide whether to acquire a shareholding in the management company.
Decision:
(a) To accept the transfer of 40 Winterbourne Gardens, Elmstead Market to the Council as an Affordable Housing Dwelling; and
(b) To acquire a shareholding in Winterbourne Gardens Management Company Ltd (Company No. 11020940) with the official representative of the Council to be nominated by the Chief Executive.
Reasons for the decision:
If the Council did not accept the property, the Affordable Housing contribution agreed as part of the Section 106 Agreement and planning permission would not be met.
In addition, this four-bedroomed property will form part of the Council’s Housing Stock.
Alternative options considered:
Not to accept the property and/or acquire a shareholding in the management company – this would have resulted in affordable housing being lost.
