Purpose:

The Careline computer and call handling system needs to be replaced. Decision is needed for the expenditure and for the direct award of the contract and exemption from normal procurement rules.

Decision:

To purchase a new computer and call handling system for Careline from Verklizan.

Reasons for the decision:

The current Careline system is analogue and has poor Management Information tools. It is also running on an unsupported Microsoft Operating System and is not fit for the future. Verklizan have a vast experience of providing digital solutions. Their platform is the most ‘fit for purpose’ and offers value for money. There are many added benefits in choosing this provider.

Alternative options considered:

Other systems were considered. The Legrand Jontek platform and the Tunstall PNC 8 solution do not meet the Council’s requirements. Also they have never been integrated into Firmsteps (the Council’s Customer Service platform).
