On the 8 January 2019 TDC agreed to grant a
Wayleave for a BT Cabinet and Joint Box adjacent to 15 Park Road,
Clacton. A request has now been received from UKPNs for a Wayleave
in order to run a 5m electricity cable underground through the
Council's land to the new BT Cabinet.
We are advised this is part of a BDUK Government funded project to
provide Superfast Fibre Broadband for the Local Community and
Council Tenants.
To grant the Wayleave Agreement as
requested.
To not grant the Wayleave, however we have
already granted a Wayleave for the Cabinet and it would be rendered
useless without an electricity connection. This land is not used
for an other purpose and it would be detrimental to the residents
of the area in obtaining a good broadband service.
