Decision Maker: Corporate Director (Place & Wellbeing) & Deputy Chief Executive
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
The additional cost will be going towards the
procurement of additional panels. The additional panels will
generate 60,000kwh and 11-12 tCO2e/year. To a 58kwh system which
will generate 69,600 kWh / year and 15.7 tonnes CO2e/year.
To achieve this, the contractor has submitted a proposal to upgrade
the solar panel system from a 50kw system to a 58kw system within
the allocated budget.
This would generate more energy, which would benefit the tenants of
Sunspot and deliver additional benefits against the defined outputs
and outcomes.
Decision:
To approve the variation of the contract dated
09/07/2026 with PYRAMID SOLUTION SOUTH EAST LTD (incorporated and
registered in England and Wales with company number 07622455 whose
registered office is at 16 Beaufort Court, Admirals Way, Docklands,
London, E14 9XL) (the Contractor) for the Ten_04 Sunspot Solar
Panels project, which is being delivered as part of the Community
Regeneration Partnership funding programme, to upgrade the solar
panels at Sunspot to 58kwh including additional panels and related
works, to the cost of £14,167.
Alternative options considered:
The appointment duration concludes prior to
the timescales of Local Government Reorganisation. Reassignment
terms are incorporated within the Council’s standard terms of
appointment, which allows for the appointment to be transferred to
a future authority, if required.
The wider project will deliver a reduction in running costs at a
Council-owned and operated asset, which will support economic
success in Jaywick Sands by reducing costs for the Council’s
tenants. This will also serve to reduce ongoing costs attached to
the asset, for a future authority.
