Decision details
Decision Maker: Corporate Director (Place & Wellbeing) & Deputy Chief Executive
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
This decision forms part of the wider Ten_09
Jaywick Sands Public Open Spaces project approved by Cabinet and
the Portfolio Holder and supports the ongoing design and
development of projects across the programme. Intrusive site
investigations are required to provide essential information on
ground conditions, drainage infrastructure and site constraints,
enabling the consultant team to progress detailed design, assess
project deliverability and reduce risk associated with unknown
ground conditions. The investigations will inform future design
decisions, support cost certainty and help mitigate potential
programme delays arising from unforeseen site conditions. The
quotation from JPP Geotechnical and Environmental Ltd represents
best value and will enable the investigations to be undertaken
within the required project programme.
Decision:
To approve the appointment of JPP Geotechnical
and
Environmental Ltd to undertake intrusive site investigation works
across the Ten_09 Jaywick Sands Public Open Spaces project area
with a 10% contingency allowance giving a total approved value of
up to £27,654.00 + VAT.
Alternative options considered:
These Site Investigations are of a short term
nature and are not expected to have an impact in relation to Local
Government Reorganisation. The wider project will continue to
deliver improvements to public realm and community assets within
Jaywick Sands.
