Decision details
Decision Maker: Corporate Director (Operations and Delivery)
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
In 2016 the Housing Service procured Chubb
Fire and Security Limited to provide Technology Enabled Care
Services (installation, maintenance and repair) in our eight
sheltered housing schemes. In 2024 the Chubb system was installed
in a newly developed ninth sheltered housing scheme at Honeycroft
in Lawford. The telecare service allows 24/7 communication from
each property to the out of hours call centre (Amphora/
Helpline).
This decision extends the "Essential Plus" maintenance service by
one year which includes access to Chubb's service centre to report
faults and allows 24/7 contact with their engineers.
Included is an annual Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) visit
to carry out a range of tests and checks to ensure that the system
is fully operational and that the key system components are
operating correctly and are in a serviceable condition.
Decision:
To extend by one year the Chubb Community Care
“Essential Plus” maintenance service for the existing
Chubb equipment at nine sheltered housing schemes. For this one
year agreement the contract rates will be charged between
£680.80 and £1,719.64 per annum per scheme for the
“Essential Plus” service level.
Alternative options considered:
The contract proposed by Chubb Fire and
Security Limited has taken into account the implications of LGR and
it can be extended by mutual agreement until such time as the new
authority takes over the statutory requirements of the services in
question.
