response to dangerous structures incidents across the
District.
A procurement exercise was undertaken between the 5th of May 2026
and the 9th of June 2026 to invite companies to bid for this
contract.
Rose Builders has demonstrated its ability to provide a suitable
24/7/365 emergency response service for such incidents and has
evidenced its capacity to supply the required personnel and
equipment to address the range of potential issues arising.
Rose Builders has extensive relevant experience; its fees are in
line with market rates and are considered to represent value for
money.
Decision:
To enter into, and award, the contract to
provide building contractor support in the delivery of Tendring
District Council’s Dangerous Structures Service, to Rose
Builders.
Alternative options considered:
Colchester City Council has an ongoing
contract with Rose Builders to provide Dangerous Structures support
to the Council.
The award of contract allows for an alignment of service provision
following LGR, with the aim of providing a smooth transition and no
