Purpose:

The interior of Clacton Leisure Centre is showing signs of wear and requires a refresh to restore it to the standard expected by our members. RedEgg Painting was awarded the contract following the initial RFQ process, having been the only bidder -https://tdcdemocracy.tendringdc.gov.uk/ieDecisionDetails.aspx?id=13912&LLL=0
A contract variation, along with a TDC services contract, is required to incorporate the painting of the remaining doors and woodwork that was previously overlooked. Carrying out this work will ensure uniform quality, present a professional finish across all areas, and bring every space up to current standards.

Decision:

A)To undertake a contract variation to extend the agreement with RedEgg Painting for the additional amount of £12,276 to include the painting of additional doors and woodwork at Clacton Leisure Centre to bring it up to a presentable standard and keep the redecoration in-keeping throughout the site.
B)The use of Clacton Leisure Centre revenue budgets for this procurement, which is aligned with the financial planning and governance framework of Tendring District Council. Specifically, this additional expenditure of £12,276.00 will be drawn from the approved Revenue Budget for Clacton Leisure Centre, under repairs and maintenance) as set out in the General Fund Budget and Council Tax report, which was formally adopted by Full Council during the budget-setting process for years 25/26. This gives a new total amount for these works totalling £36,793.00.
C)To enter into a TDC services contract with RedEgg Painting for the painting works at Clacton Leisure Centre, for full contract amount of £36,793.00.

Alternative options considered:

This will not be affected by LGR as is a one-off expenditure to refresh the painting of Clacton Leisure Centre.
