To utilise £10,000 of the Public Health Grant funding from Essex County Council to deliver the Autumn term Junior Ambassadors project and to allocate funding to the artists who deliver the interventions. The Public Health Grant budget currently has £133,000 available for use and following this allocation there will be £123,000 still available for use.

The Tendring Junior Ambassador Project is aimed at encouraging children below senior school age to become more involved in their community and take pride in the area in which they live. Junior Ambassadors are encouraged to show respect for themselves, their community and their environment. Children become ambassadors to deliver a positive message to families and friends.
The project assists in children leading active and healthy lives and developing awareness and respect for cultural diversity.
It delivers a public health intervention by developing community and addressing challenges children face by building resilience and a healthy lifestyle whilst encouraging diversity and tolerance.
The cultural work is delivered by a number of artists and the decision seeks to allocate funding to them for work undertaken in delivering the project.

To not fund the project and use the funding for a different public health intervention.
Although there is demand for allocating funding to public health work the Junior Ambassadors project is tried and tested and has delivered strong outcomes in terms of school and children engagement to build resilience and brings parents into the project in a celebration event. Local schools are very supportive of the event and seek to be included in the programme.
