Purpose:
To allow the use of tablets for door knocking
canvassing activities to be supplied by Democracy Counts without
going through the usual procurement procedures.
Decision:
To hire tablets from Democracy Counts to complete the door knocking stage of annual canvass 2024,
To grant an exemption from Rule 2.2 of the Procurement Procedure Rules.
Reasons for the decision:
To allow the use of tablets for canvassing activities supplied by Democracy Counts without going through the usual procurement procedures.
Consulted with and agreed by Corporate Finance & Governance Portfolio Holder.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - To use existing electoral
management system supplier. It is not possible to seek RFQ in this
instance as other providers of similar solutions, require use of
their own electoral management systems.
