Decision:
(a) To approve, in principle, the granting of a new lease in respect of Harwich and Dovercourt Cricket Club, West End Lane, Dovercourt, CO12 3TT;
(b) To agree the completion of a new lease over the Harwich and Dovercourt Cricket Club on the terms set out in the supporting Officer Report (Part B); and should it be necessary;
(c) To authorise the Corporate Director (Operations and Delivery) to agree any other terms he considers appropriate.
Reasons for the decision:
The property has been rented to the current tenant for over 40 years. It is in a fair condition and there are no outstanding rent payments.
Agreeing a new lease of this property will continue to bring revenue income to the Council as well as allowing an established business to continue operating and providing an amenity to the area.
Alternative options considered:
Not to lease out the property to the current tenant and to search for a new tenant.
