Purpose:
The Council is a member of a consortium of
local authorities that is led by the Greater South East Net Zero
Hub and have received funding from the Government Home Upgrade
(HUG) energy efficiency scheme. This funding is administered by the
Net Zero Hub on behalf of the consortium and each authority has the
option to enter into a funding agreement to receive capacity and
capability funding to support the local promotion of the HUG
scheme.
This decision is to enter into a grant funding agreement and
receive £1,800 for this financial year and a further sum, yet
to be determined, for 2024/25.
Decision:
To enter into a grant funding agreement with
the Greater South East Net Zero Hub to receive capacity and
capability funding in respect of the Home Upgrade Scheme
(£1,800 for this financial year and a further sum, yet to be
determined, for 2024/25).
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - to accept the funding
Option 2 - not to accept the funding which would mean the Council
not undertaking local promotion of the scheme and residents
potentially losing out on home energy efficiency upgrades
