Decision details

Decision Maker: Corporate Director (Operations and Delivery)

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

The Council is a member of a consortium of councils across the East of England that has been awarded Home Upgrade (HUG) funding from The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. The consortium is led by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority. The funding is being used to deliver home energy efficiency improvements to homes across the consortium council areas. Each member council can claim a small proportion of the funding to undertake local promotion of the HUG scheme to its residents. This funding is known as capacity and capability funding.
A decision is required in order to enter into a grant agreement with the consortium and to accept the funding.
Funding for the 2023/24 financial year will not exceed £1,800 and for 2024/25 is estimated at £29,680.

Decision:

To enter into a grant agreement with and accept funding from the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority in respect of promoting the Home Upgrade Grant

Alternative options considered:

Option 1 - Not to accept the funding. This would mean the Council either undertakes local promotion of the HUG scheme at its own cost or does not undertake any local promotion.
Option 2 - To accept the funding and undertake local promotion.
