Purpose:

To agree the concurrence with regards to projects for the UKSPF in years 2023/24

Decision:

The Letter of Concurrence detailed the projects that were put forward for approval in some interventions for financial year 2024/2025. Common reasons for recommended rejection include:
•Poor value for money in terms of grant in vs outputs produced
•Mismatched outputs e.g. Skills for Life-style projects which would not deliver the employment-focussed Skills projects which were deemed most in demand locally
•Lack of information received in the application
•Direct comparison with similar projects also applied for, linked to value for money
•Projects were also chosen with a view to spending the allocation across the District rather than in one location, but not formally weighted
Projects had to be chosen in order to allocate some of the Shared Prosperity fund allocation beyond TDC-led projects in this financial year, as committed to with Government.

Alternative options considered:

To delay this decision would delay the projects in the concurrence and therefore reduce available delivery time, as they must be complete by the end of the financial year 2023/24 or 2024/25.
