Purpose:

The Leisure Centres currently provide in-house vending machines at Dovercourt and Walton Leisure Centres, allowing customers to purchase a variety of snack items, cold drinks and a hot drinks machine located at Dovercourt. The prices have been in place since November 2022 and are required to be reviewed in line with 1st April 2024 price increases.
With ever-increasing costs and a stock price increase over time, the leisure sites have collectively reviewed the items sold and outlined the proposed changes to each item we sell within the concurrence letter.

Decision:

To approve the vending prices to be increased, as outlined in the concurrence letter, as from 1st April 2024 in order to cover the expenditure costs associated with purchasing stock for the vending machines and machine costs, along with maintaining in-line with income lines after inflation on product purchases.

The Portfolio Holder for Leisure & Public Realm has concurred with this decision being made.

Alternative options considered:

Not to increase the costs for the product and the vending will not cover the operational cost and would cost the centres to operate in effect loss revenue.
