Following the decision published on 6th
February 2023 regarding the allocations for year 1 of the Shared
Prosperity Fund, £10,000 has been allocated to a grants
scheme to increase participation in sports and leisure
activities.
Building on the work of the Local Delivery Pilot, and administered
through colleagues in the Sports
To allocate £10,000 to a grants scheme
to increase participation in sports and leisure activities.
The Leisure & Tourism Portfolio Holder has concurred with this
decision being made.
Option 1 - excluding sports and leisure from
the Shared Prosperity Fund. Excluding sports and leisure would not
have been in alignment with council priorities.
Option 2 - allocating the money to an in-house project at TDC. This
would have been challenging to resource given the time available
for spend.
