Purpose:

This is an annual contribution, made alongside a number of other public sector organisations including Essex County Council and Suffolk County Council, towards the operational costs of the HHF.
These operational costs support the service, and therefore the benefits, including tourism, it brings to the local area.

The Business & Economic Growth Portfolio Holder (Councillor Mary Newton) has concurred with this decision being made.

Decision:

To contribute £1,500 to the Harwich Harbour Ferry (HHF) for the 2023/24 season.




Alternative options considered:

To discontinue the annual contribution.
