This decision supports TDC's Back to Business
report, where £250,000 was allocated under an Executive
Decision in February 2022 to refurbish the Skate Park.
Additionally, it supports the Cabinet decision taken in November
2022 in the Financial Performance Report 2022/23.
The Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Tourism was consulted and he
has concurred with all aspects of the Corporate Director's
decision.
To approve the award of the contract to
Betongpark Limited and to agree with the insurance uplift cost to
be covered to meet the requirements for the Skate Park
refurbishment located at Clacton Leisure Centre, contractual sum
£254,620. Additionally, to agree the additional improvement
work.
Not to proceed with the refurbishment;
however, this option will create a poor first impression of the
leisure facility, and the area will be abandoned, which could lead
to increased anti-social behaviour at the site.
