The case involves two individuals. The
Ombudsman has reviewed the circumstances of the issues involved in
the case and recommended that one be paid a sum of £200 and
the other be paid £300. Both payments are within the 'modest'
level of payments where the Ombudsman has found fault by a Council.
Further details of the circumstances, and the actions of the
Council and its agent, will be submitted in a report to the
Council's Cabinet.
To authorise payments totalling £500
where there was a finding of fault by the Council due to it not
taking the opportunity to review housing needs in 2019 and from its
council tax debt recovery agents not returning the case to the
council in the particular circumstances of the case.
Option 1 - Not to abide by the
recommendations. This was rejected for the reasons set out in this
decision record.
