The OPFCC provides funding to Tendring District Council on an annual basis for projects that support Community Safety across Tendring. Each individual application is assess by the Partnership to determine whether it meets the strategic priorities of the District to reduce crime and enhance community safety.
Cllr Lynda McWilliams is the Chair of the Community Safety Partnership.
5 Projects have been agreed by the partnership to be grant funded as follows:
UTurn - Knife Crime reduction programme (£2,750)
Colchester United (CUFITC) :
Mental Health Awareness (£2,750)
Small Group Project Mentoring (£2,750)
Unite our Communities (£2,500)
Open Road - Clacton Town Outreach Project (£2,153)

To award grants to the organisations as detailed above and make the relevant payments.
The decision maker is the Community Safety Partnership and full funding has been given to Tendring District Council by the OPFCC to cover project costs.

The Park Runs in Harwich and Clacton ceased to take place during the pandemic in line with Government guidance.
ECC (Dr Mike Gogarty) and Tom Williams, Park Run made contact with the authority on 11 June 2021 to confirm a number of Park Runs across Greater Essex had permission to re-start. This included the Park Runs at Clacton and Harwich.
The two Park Runs in Tendring support the Council's strategic health priorities.

The Portfolio Holder for Partnerships and the AD (Partnerships) working with Public Health Officers agreed to support the re-opening of the Park Runs in Tendring, following the Government's Covid Road Map.
Colleagues in Public Realm have also been informed as the Park Runs take place on TDC land.
This is an ECC Public Health initiative with the national Park Run organisation, supported by Tendring District Council.

To award the contract to Street Tag for Gamification of the seafront as part of the Heritage Lottery Trail.
Street Tag will allow users to collect virtual tags and earn points at various locations along the Heritage Lottery Trail.
The public play along by creating teams and entering onto a leader board.
Schools can also participate and earn rewards for their school. There will be a separate leader board for schools.
Street Tag will encourage physical activity and provide TDC with regular reports of anonymised data in order to evaluate participation.

Following procurement, to award the contract to Street Tag, financed from the Heritage Lottery Trail budget.

A request has been received from a company carrying out an initial feasibility study for a windfarm company for permission to carry out non-intrusive surveys over some of TDC's coastal land in Holland-on-Sea, Great Holland, Frinton-on-Sea and Dovercourt.

The operating system that manages the lessons and courses has been upgraded to provide a new and fresh way to deliver the swimming lessons and dry-side courses (children coached activities) programme across our Tendring Leisure Centres. As such and taking this into account, the price point of the swimming lessons and courses need to be reviewed to reflect the new offering (detailed in the concurrent letter)

The Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Tourism has concurred with the Assistant Director’s decision to amend the pricing and packages of the lessons and courses to reflect the new and improved way in the delivery of all lessons and courses across all centres of the District. This, in turn, offers an expanded range of payment methods that would include Direct Debit and Annual payment options, and the opportunity for Parents and Guardians to monitor their child’s progression on an online platform.
