To formally re-appoint the membership of the Tendring Community Fund Working Party (TCFWP). The membership will be Councillors McWilliams (Chairman), Alexander, Allen, Bush, Chapman, V E Guglielmi, J Henderson, Land, Newton, Wiggins and Winfield.

Designated Members who can substitute for their respective group’s member will be Councillors King, Placey, Scott and M E Stephenson.

The creation and funding of the Tendring Community Fund (TCF) was approved by Cabinet on 21 February 2020 as part of the Council’s approval of its budget.

Subsequently, the Portfolio Holder for Partnerships (Cllr Lynda McWilliams), having consulted with Group Leaders, formally appointed Members to serve by way of an Executive Decision published on 30 March 2020. 

However, due to the restrictions and burdens imposed by Covid-19 it was not possible to reach a place where the TCFWP could start to meet and carry out its functions though the Council is now at the point where it is looking to “start over”. In view of the amount of time that has elapsed since the TCFWP was first appointed Cllr McWilliams asked Officers to go back to Group Leaders and ask them whether they would wish to confirm or change their respective Group’s nominations.

This decision will therefore allow Officers to make the necessary administrative arrangements to enable the TCFWP to finally commence its work.

Initially, the TCFWP will look at the operation of the TCF and the criteria to be used.  The TCFWP will be able to submit its recommendations (via the Portfolio Holder) to the Cabinet for its consideration.
