Purpose:

The Chief Executive Officer has delegated operational matters relating to the funding for an additional Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) to the Assistant Director - Partnerships

Decision:

Additional funding for a partnership Police Community Support Officer. The Officer will be be funded by a joint agreement between Tendring District Council and Harwich Town Council, for a period of two years commencing on 01.04.2021

Alternative options considered:

a. The Parties have identified a collective desire to fund, monitor and work in partnership the additional PCSO in the Harwich area.
b.Tendring District Council had a section in the Proposed Adjustments to the Budget December 2020 and the section of the report is attached. The wording in the report is:
“The Council currently supports the cost of this officer by way of a 50% contribution that is matched by Harwich Town Council. The initial 2 year period under the current arrangement comes to an end at the end of March 2021 - it is proposed to continue to support this post for a further 2 years.
