The Surveillance Camera Commissioner has made
it a prerequisite for local authorities to adopt a CCTV Code of
Practice. This Body Worn Camera policy supports the Code of
Practice.
TDC officers will feel safer going into situations knowing that the
behaviour of individuals is being recorded. Evidence will be
gathered and can be used to support enforcement activities. It will
also ensure that our offices are carrying out their duties
correctly.
For Tendring District Council to adopt the
policy for Body Worn Cameras and to publish said policy on the TDC
website.
