Decision:

To accept £100,000 from Essex County Council to add to the Business Adaptation Grant allocation. Both Cllr. Guglielmi and Cllr. Newton have agreed via email.

Reasons for the decision:

Due to the success of the BAG, in the last week of the grant being open, applications exceeded expectations and a number were received after the available money was allocated. This meant that some applications needed to be rejected. This additional funding will cover some of those rejected submissions.

Alternative options considered:

To not accept the additional £100,000 which is supporting local businesses recovering from the pandemic.
