Purpose:

In May 2019 and as part of the Mayflower 2020 celebrations, TDC took a lease over 21 Kings Head Street in Harwich, which was the home of Christopher Jones the Master of the Mayflower Ship. This has been opened for visitors to look around over the last two years when restrictions have allowed. The current lease term is due to expire on the 31 July 2021 and in order to continue to operate this attraction through the summer and for the remainder of 2021 it is proposed to extend the lease on the same terms for a further 5 months until the 31 December 2021.

Decision:

To extend the lease for a further 5 months until 31 December 2021 on the same terms as the current lease dated 1 May 2019.

Alternative options considered:

To allow the lease to end on the 31 July 2021 and close the visitor attraction.
