The Community Champions Scheme administered by the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government announced a £25m funding scheme to support people to be most at risk from Coronavirus (Covid 19) , including those most at risk from an ethnic minority background , disabled people and others to follow safer behaviours and reduce the impact of the virus on themselves and others around them.
The AD of Partnerships with the approval of Management Team submitted a bid to the fund for £220,000 to support the work of Community Champions across the District and to employ a Projects Officer to co-ordinate this work.

The decision was made by the AD Partnerships , following approval from Management Team to make a bid to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to support community groups across the District.
